Race to forget as far as pace was concerned...

Thanks to Raz for keeping me company back there until I flipped over the wall.. Found a gap to get back on the track with suspension problems and then found Raz again and we spun our way home

Sorry JJC for holding you up for the first few laps... You were way faster and I should have just let you go... My bad, sorry

Greg

Sorry man! I cut down all the servers that were'nt used and only left one GTR2 server populated by 2 people and the GT-65+ server which was empty. I don't know what is causing your issues, the server and its bandwidth are not stretched by any means it think

Well that was a better race than I had anticipated! I had had no practice to mention and during pratice tonight I found that I didn't like the track's low grip.

Still, qualy was decent ending up on P4, good start and with Joni taking out Fernando I was promoted to P3.

Paul and Jimmy were just too fast for me and I made myself comfortable for a long 15 laps trying to defend my spot. Fernando whizzed by when I blinked a little too long, but soon after he disconnected with his car tunneling through mine - luckily it went too fast for the collision detection to notice

After that I had an awesome 10 or so laps fending off Vfast1 whom I tricked a few times into outbraking himself, and I managed to keep him at bay for a long time even though it was obvious he was faster. However, I made him work for it and only when I went wide just a little in T2 he came alongside and after going through the next 2 or 3 corners side-by-side he finally went past and opened a small gap for the final lap.

Joni inspected my rear bumper going into the last lap but apparently it smelled very nasty because he quickly backed away, so I could easily bring it home in 4th position.

Great racing that was, looking forward to next week!

cool event !
this track fitted the mini really perfect !!

after qualy i found myself on the grid at p13 with a pb under 2.10 . hellya!
when in p11, gaining on one of the abarths , i spun myself , trying to grab a bottle (dont drink and drive!)

a whole group went by and i found myself behind the trunk of the professor-mobile, and we went on battling for p15!
so hard to overtake here, you dont know ! i couldnt get by the orange-squeezer.... and i tried hard , !! for almost 2/3 of the race , but in the end prof kept the slightest of advantages ! grats !

thx all for clean racing ! heads up, mikko !

My qualy time good, because I improve my previous pb ~0.6s.
Race start ok but little contact with Rees T1, I Lost some position.
Next mostly good battle with Remco and Vfast. Incredible low grip here,
tyres works good half race. Top 6 very close, only Paul much faster.
Hope my mini works better next track when I join^^

Grats Paul and all, cu later

Wow!

Did I finally manage to enter the 08-club, it turns out that the 07 club becomes so crowded that an 06 club is founded... . Ah well... I guess I can't complain, as I put down a new PB during practice and almost repeated it in the qual.

The race...
After a careful start I made an error in the hairpin, bumping Toni of the road... , sorry! Back on the road we lost quite a few places... I found myself chasing Dazzaboy, who seemed to be driving quite a wide Mini. Overtaking was not easy... not easy at all. After I finally managed, Laverda and Raz had run off. Looking forward to battle with Laverda he jumped into a sandbox letting me pass... After passing Raz I was trying to get back to Toni, and though getting close for a short while a brief excursion off the road let him go away...

An exciting race, it was!

CU next week!

Tokin

Put in a new PB in quali (2:07.757) good enough for P9 on the grid.
One of the Abarth was lagging through the first corners and things got a little messy. Lost some positions but soon got one or to back again. Was now in P8 (I believe) with Danny Wilde close behind. Made a mistake before the chicane and ran wide, Danny took advantage and went past. Was able to follow Danny and started to put some pressure on him. Tried to overtake him into T1 a couple of time, but didn’t succeed. I was close behind him when I hit that damn curb in the second to last turn. Hit the barrier hard and went on the roof….. lost a lot of time. Rejoined and cruised home in P9 I think. Great battle Danny… sorry I couldn’t keep it on the tarmac.

Sorry to se Fernando disconect

Grats podium and all.

Thx for another exciting event all who participated. And yes as you've all noticed its a battle for grip the last third of the race. Had to rethink my brakingpoints, guess the tires was like melted marshmallows the last five laps. No problems Toki for bumping me off , happens :)
By the way thx for waiting on me , apprechiated ! Yes you where chasing me there and closing in the gap ... the last thing a saw from you was braking in to late and down into the litterbox you went
Yes we dropped down 5-6 positions it hurts.
There i found raz and professor battling out and i was looking for a place to pass, nice racing there for a while also . I think professor braked to late and lost momentum , there i could pass and tried to work my way back up a bit ... damn hard as always. Skilled drivers in this league :)
KarmaSteve and i had long battle also chasing neck to neck 3-4 laps i think until you lost traction or something. Good fight though :)
Happy with my 10th position which i had at the start of the race also.
see you on track.

Toni

My first time on this track and I didn't like it. Had no practice at all so I still don't know how anything below 2:08 is possible there.

Anyway, a usual rocket start put me from 22nd to 12th or so with the Professor right behind me as we went into T1. Little contact but no problem so I was able to overtake a few more cars that battled heavily through the next 2-3 corners.
In the uphill lefthander raz spun and recovered right in front of me so he received a small bump (sorry!) and I was 1 up. Overtook 2 more cars in the hairpin and 1 lap later an Abarth which was fighting very well!
Red5 was next as I closed the gap onto him and Geoffers. The latter spun off in that tricky flat out righthander and crashed into the barriers big time.
Red5, that was a nice battle. He did some small mistakes so I guessed it might be good to overtake before I got infected with that.
Some very nice laps behind each other with him being much faster on the straight but just not fast enough, although we went side by side through some corners at one point. Really bad he went off at the same spot as Geoffers. That would've been an epic battle!

Afterwards not much action. I was too slow to catch up with top6 and too fast to get company from behind. Eventually I found the Professor and Raz in front of me but raz decided to spin him on the spot right in front of my car. (almost a dejy-vu from LeMans)

Finished 7th, which is ok and gives me 1 bonus point, but I still don't like the track.

Congrats to podium and all finishers anyway!

So your brother punted you off your chair and then pulled out the ethernet cable? What a prick!

I was an almost-06 guy (2:07 flat) and I was using short

I used med in the race, felt it was a bit more comfortable than short.
Maybe a mistake because I had done most of my practce with short gearing.

What do you mean with bad? Not ending on the podium each race? Try to stay out of trouble and enjoy the racing, perhaps trying to push a little less hard.

The next race will be a street track and I'm sure it'll be a blast. Who cares about points, it's the racing that counts! Go and practice close driving, defensive driving, slipstreaming, outbraking others, have fun and don't think about the end result!
