I was in P8 after the final turn of race 1. I finished 5th... that might give some idea of what was going on.

Ok, so the battle will be to drop back to 7th then

I've had a word with one of the naughty boys, and he says he won't do it again

The solution could be to start the 2 race in reverse order of the result of race 1.
But I don’t think that is possible…

Funny story! Hehehe... gotta se a video of that.

Red5, good point. I believe we can switch positions manually with Watchdog, no? We could do no Qualifying for Race 2, just inverted grid.

I think this may be possible in the future when the new version of Watchdog works as planned, but not this season that's for sure.

After discussing this thing a long time we decided for the top5 back then and never regretted it. I actually don't see the point. As Fernando pointed out this is normal behaviour in several real life leagues/series.
And let's face it: it adds one more excitement to those not able to get on the podium in race 1. It's a battle for positions, what else do you want?

I would support a rule that says you must not deliberately concede P5 in race 1,
with penalty = DQ both races.

but if others want it to be part of the strategy then that's also fine with me.

Maybe we should have a poll?

I mean, complicated to judge, would probably add a new level of tension. Perhaps it's OK to keep it as it is and hope that we're all racing among friends with a similar interest and we won't act like that.

Okay each Race 2 I will randomly kick a random number of players who ended up below P5 in Race 1! How's that for excitement?

Excluding myself of course

If all us gents agree on the rule that it's not allowed (even if there are no penalties)

Then this gentleman will take your word for it.
If you say it was an accident (assuming that the replay does not show something blatant )
...then it was an accident

For my part, I hadn't thought of doing anything like this until I saw one of the cars in front of me slow down considerably to concede 5th and didn't want to be the victim of it

I would support this too. Whether or not they do it in real life seems irrelevant. To me, the idea behind the setup is to give the fastest drivers a challenge in race 2 and give someone else a good chance to win. Deliberately avoiding a 5th-place finish in race 1 just undermines the idea and gives that driver an unfair advantage for race 2.

Difficult to enforce? Perhaps, but I know everyone here is sensible and friendly enough that we could all just agree to it and not create any trouble

Why need those tactical moves, if good luck your sprint race 2 is 0pts
Take maximum position always!

Still I should have 2 more points as I had the most places gained in last week's race 1 and this week's race. That doesn't show in the graphs for some reason, but as I start dead last every race (except second DS races) it should be easy to verify.

OK Yes Danny You do get an extra point. I got it wrong. Results file shows a different starting order. It has been changed and will be updated soon.

Can anyone check the 2nd race and tell me if it's right. I don't have a replay to go by.
Thanks.

There maybe is a little fault in the second race at HidddenValley. Toni Niemi got the point for MPC, I believe Remco should have got it.

Closer and closer official Standings!

I forget mondello race 2 and westwood "most places gained" points...
Who is actually most places gained last race? No idea here.

Edit. All known errors fixed.
