The Boss 302 is a late addition Mod for this season so those that can drive this beast can give the Corvette a run for it's money.

--- If you look at the tracks for this season, only a few might favor the 302 over the Corvette and even Class B cars.

Well, sorry for my jumping to conclusions... I'll edit my post... I just think that the Boss is extremely faster... For me it was 5sec a lap faster than the Vette in a 1:15 lap...

Still, this is at best an amateur sim-racing league, so no money on the line... So we can all have fun no matter what we drive...

I would still recomend to check the performance in the pre-season race and make a decision on it after that...

To give a better idea of what that car is like, I could easily do DeTomaso Pantera laptimes with it, in any track...

Yeah, it's top speed is 160mph as appose to the Vette that is 153mph. I just thought that the Boss is more of a handful to drive on a tighter track than the Corvette so they would be on par. The only "pre-season" race is this Saturday at St. Petersburg which is a shortish yet tight road track with only one straights to get the power really down max so it would not really be tested adequately.

Have to get some experience though because of the Chevelle, and the Aussie Falcon.

Some minor problems with the two 'cudas in pack 3
nothing that stops us driving though

The driver is sitting too high (see pic)
And the bik files are missing (if it bothers you, they can be d/loaded here)

I'll issue fixes as and when they are available.
Repairs to Car Pack 3 will be done next week.

Yesterday i tried to enter the muscle car server with the black Charger "Big Sugar".
It caused a ctd on entering !
Joined later with another one which was o.k. ....

Should be something to be investigated?!

Yep, I just tried the "Big Sugar" and it caused a problem

What is normally the common reason for this?

Yep, works ok offline for me,
but online it loops loading my car over and over again

Just did some testing at St. Petersburg ------------ vonRace came in with the Boss (Brut) and he was 10 seconds faster than the standard Falcon.......... So I went out and picked the Boss (Coke) Red one and it drove like the GT350 and no faster than the Falcon......... Was puzzled..... So went back out and picked the Boss (Brut) and it was much faster than the Coke............. So it seems that this MOD has two cars that are totally different in them. The Coke seems to be just a standard GT350 while the Brut is a true Shelby Boss 302. Weird!!!

Probably wrong engine in the XXX.car file.
Open both car folders and have a look (can do with wordpad).

Not just the engine

The Boss 302 mod has got a tweaked chassis to match the original Boss 302 which was based on a later model than the original GTL Shelby GT350...

The problem is that we have the Coke one as a skin for the original shelby GT350 and there is probably a conflict there... But the Boss 302 is really...the Boss...!

I can't imagine it being beaten by anything less than the DeTomaso Pantera (Group5 one), the big-block Corvettes or the 911 RSRs...

Well, right now my mod/race PC is kaputt, else I'd simply convert & renumber it.
Then it will not give conflicts.

But, would you WANT to have two same cars (same skin) with different performance?

Uhhh... I guess the ' surprise' effect would be good though!

It's very similar to the "Great Salesman effect"...

"Here you go Sir. This used car is in perfect condition... Tip top... Factory like... Best of it's kind you could find..."

And then you discover that apart from the paintjob, nothing is in "tip top" shape...LOL

I've given both the Boss cars a go, and both are just as quick for me, both .car files point to the same physics set.
Waaaaaay faster than the Corvette, although it must be said I've not put in a decent lap the 'Vette yet.
I'm still deciding what to take on Saturday, might go for one of the Class B cars for a change.

What we have included in the carpack is the old Boss302 Mod...

There is now a second part with 3 more, beautiful skins and A LOT OF BUGS fixed, along with a new engine that is slightly less powerful but more drivable and closer to the original Boss engine...

There are new sounds as well...

It is very possible that the fact that one car is slower might be due to us having the older version.

The new one can be found as Big Rons Boss 302 mod.

Well, maybe we should just scrap the Boss? Or, get the new one added for the start of the 1st race? If this is the old one and it is faulty, then I think we should either scrap the Boss Mod completely or adapt the new one in?

What say you all?

So should we just leave that car out for tomorrows race and then everyone will have time to grab the new one for the 1st official race of the season?

In tomorrows race I was gonna use the Boss Brut as I was quickest in that

but maybe we should just scrap that car for tomorrows race completely?
